The story behind the GOAL Logo:

Hey there, folks!

Today, we're diving into something pretty cool—the story behind our GOAL logo. You've probably seen it around, those three stars shining bright. Well, guess what? They're not just there for looks. They actually have a whole story behind them, and excited to share it.

Let's Get into It:

So, picture this: I have this good friend who served in the US Military. He did 3 missions to Afghanistan and needless to say, he has been through some tough stuff and has battled PTSD for years. One day, he tells me about this exercise he did with his counselor. They drew three circles on a piece of paper—one for the past, one for the present, and one for the future.

Well he did that and in his exercise he drew the biggest circle being his past, the middle one being his present, and the smallest one being his future. His therapist then said, “ Good, now we are going to work on flipping that around.”

The Three Stars:

That story hit me hard and has never left me. I actually incorporated it into my college portfolio website: http://dpperspective.com/ back in 2010. And then when I started Goal Pediatric Orthotics back in 2018, and had to come up with a logo, I knew I wanted to figure out how to use the inspiration. So… I turned them into stars! And they symbolize a perspective that I hope our patients and their families try to have when working with us.

The first and smallest one represents that we simply "learn from the past." Makes sense, right? We've all got stuff we've been through, good and bad. This star reminds us to take those lessons and grow from them, NOT dwell on them.

Next up, we've got "living fully in the present." It's all about being here, right now with the amazing kids we get to work with every day. Life's too short to be stuck in the past or worrying about the future. This star is like a little nudge to enjoy the moment.

Last but not least, there's "looking brightly to the future." This one's about hope and possibility. It's about dreaming big and believing that things can and will get better. No matter what's happened before, there's always a chance for a brighter tomorrow.

Wrapping It Up: So, there you have it—the story behind those three stars on our GOAL logo. They're not just symbols; they're reminders to learn, live, and stay optimistic. Pretty cool, huh?

Thanks for listening.
